Euro...Thanks Rafiq, and You are absolutely right.

European Comics are just like their movies. Those who have enjoyed them would swear by them. but when it comes to knocking back those popcorns it's always the Hollywood stuff that gets the vote.

Its always going to be difficult to survive in US. The place is swarming with all sorts of comic books and strips and graphic novels and what not!

For them to accept something from outside, it has to be really really good or must be such a rage in the place of origin.

Luke is good. But it suffers from over dependency on the wild west mythos instead of using it as a mere context.so from a casual reader's point of view the stories per se don't excite much.

Besides exporting a western to westerners can only be compared to trying to sell a refrigerator to an eskimo! :)GKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00336011914398187657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8607765881455250705.post-77886486031888849372010-03-12T22:06:57.491+05:302010-03-12T22:06:57.491+05:30A thoughtful analysis of Lucky's failure in it...A thoughtful analysis of Lucky's failure in its real homeland, at Wild West, GK. Lucky all had all the ingredients to be rated on top with the humour cowboys ever created (were there any notables) in the setting of Wild West.

But putting into the context the burning question that Was European Comics, ever given their due credit in American heartland?? Blueberry, Tex Willer, Chick Bill, to name a line-up which was awe-inspiring and thought provoking than any Westerners introduced by DC or Marvel or their likes.

Maybe the mindset which was prevalent during the golden, silver age of american comics, never saw European Comics as their true counterpart. Loss to them, but good we aren't part of that crowd.

I would enjoy both worlds treasure unbiased anyday :)Rafiq Rajahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04589402571072945860noreply@blogger.com
